We have a few caterpillars right now, found a couple I just had to get a photo of. SONY a6300 with Canon ef-s 24mm f/2.8 on Metabones M5 adapter and Canon 450D close-up attachment. Diffused flash.

Cool! The one on the left is the horned span worm (Nematocampa resistaria), and it is an unusual species. The other I think is the forest tent caterpillar (Malacosoma disstria).

Can't wait to see the kids from this tryst. Horny and fuzzy, faces only Mom can love.

That is interesting, it would make a great video if you see them again.

On my "to do" list. Hope the camera can follow focus at this close distance. Metabones with Canon seems slow to focus, may switch to Sigma 30mm fe mount and try. Just more stuff to tote along.

Thanks, I've not been too adept at the ID sites, must be how I approach the questions.

LOL!! I remember a popular cartoonist drew a cat that resembled what my mind's eye expects from such a tryst!

Thanks. I'll roam through my files and label these so I will be able to name them next time.

Absolutely spellbinding. The kind of interaction that I've only seen on nature programs.

Be very literal in your description. That helps. Other than that, I am no help. I still use books and keys.
