Just want to say something nice about a FedEx driver. I was shoveling off the approximate 1-2 inches of snow we got this morning. A FedEx driver was making a delivery up the street from us. I saw him coming back and just waved to him as he came down the street and went back to shoveling. I heard the truck stop and when I turned around the driver asked if I could use some help with the shoveling. I still had a little left to shovel but I told him I was OK and that I really appreciated his offer to help.

One of my closest friends is a FedEx driver. I asked him about this and he said he would never stop to help someone shovel snow off their driveway. Then he asked me what "Snow" was. His route is Woodland Hills, California.

Wow, that is a very unusal driver, be nice to him because most FE drivers are contractors and only get paid a flat rate for each trip,so the longer they take to deliver the packages the less per hr. they make and often get no benefits. so that was a really nice gesture.

i guess when you only get a flat rate you have to take extra jobs where you can get them....lol

FedEx Ground and FedEX Home drivers are independent contractors, FedEx Express drivers are not.

FedEx Express delivers almost exclusively to businesses. Many business deliveries are now made by FedEx Ground. FedEx Ground and FedEx Home deliver almost all residential FedEx Deliveries.

I have some great people that deliver, the mail, UPS and Fedex, Most of them are young, the older ones from 45 years ago when we moved here are retired, and some have passed away. Living a few miles off the main road in a rural area I have told them to just drop the package at our local country store if the roads are icy or the snow is deep, and give me a call and I'll pick it up. Every one knows everyone else here.
