Canon Print Studio Pro and Photoshop CC 2019 - bad juju

I recently upgraded to PS CC 2019 and I have used my Canon Pixma Pro-100 printer to great satisfaction in the past. However, when I went to print an image and clicked on "File / Automate" I found to my horror that Canon Print Studio Pro (PSP) plugin was no longer there. Not just grayed out, but no longer there. It was not to be found in the "About Plugins" section either. Gone...poof!

I tried reinstalling the latest version of PSP but no luck. And I loathe the embedded "Photoshop Print" function as one of the crappiest, least reliable and basically worthless programs ever included in an otherwise quality product. So... I went online and found this link - worked like a charm!

Go to the post by jrhoffman75 and you will find simple instrux to get the PSP software up and running again. Don't be mislead by the designation that is is for PSE - works on PS CC 2019 as well. A lifesaver!

My issue is that I changed out the inks in my Canon printer (all six of them) and now I'm not able to print anything. I've already run the cleaning cycle (multiple times) & the deep cleaning cycles to no avail. Then I changed the inks in my Brother printer and the same thing is happening...

With your Canon printer are you able to print 11X14 prints? I know the printer should but my will not. I'm also running Windows 10 and think this is part of the problem. When I contacted Canon they said the printer should be able to print this side, but that was about it.

Yes, I can print the 11 x 14 size, but I am using a Mac, so I can't advise on Windows and what it can and cannot do...

Why would you need Canon Print Studio when you can print via Photoshop?

Well funny you mentioned that. I actually tried through Corel, this is the software I use. It too will not show a 11x14 print option. Go figure.

As I mentioned in my post, I have found the Photoshop Print function to be the worst printing program I have ever used...limited options, unintuitive controls, dodgy results and just a messy program. However, Print Studio Pro offers everything I desire in a printing program, works right the first time, has tons of printing options and an intuitive interface. That's why I use it....

Also, it is made by the same people who make my printer, so there's that...

I always select to let Photoshop manage colors when printing and to me it is simply the best, most reliable and acucurate there is. I can simply not find a crappy thing about it!

I do the same thing in Print Shop Pro - I use the setting to allow PS manage the colors. My displeasure is directed at the embedded print program in Photoshop, not the selection of the color manager. And I still maintain the PS print program leaves just about everything to be desired.
