This is called the Metal morphosis.
It is located in a business park in Charlotte NC.
The thing rotates in different directions, and also six sections of it rotate separately to make for different shapes, but the main shape, is of a head as one of my photo's shows.
It also acts as a fountain but it was not on today while I was there.
Its is an interesting piece of art that depending on the time of day it takes on a variety of looks.
Unfortunately for me I was shooting pretty much around high noon, sunrise and sunset really give it an interesting kind of look.

This was one of my stops during last fall’s photo trip. I didn’t realize it moved until I got there. I showed several people an iPhone video and they enjoyed that.

Thanks for posting an interesting photo op.

What a beautifull and interesting piece of art. The artist must have gad a terrific imagination and the skill and knowledge of an engineer. Mahalo for sharing.

It a very interesting item....I wish I could get there to photograph it during a sunrise, but I live about 45 minutes away without traffic and if I were to try for a sunrise photo shoot I would be in major rush hour traffic, and I really dont have the need to fight with that stuff.....lol
