What is weird in the UK but normal in the US?

I have just read this post from a UK guy who has recently returned from the US after living there for several years.
How accurate are his comments?

Pledging allegiance to a f**g

Flying The F**g in your front garden

TV evangelists

Enthusiastic Christianity

Guns

Showing visitors around your house

V****g for Trump

Assuming everyone wants to be American

Not going abroad

Spelling sulph**e with an “f” and being unable to pronounce “aluminium”

Thinking that an old house was one built 50 years ago

Saying “Gimme a beer” and not being asked, “What’s the magic word?”

Being ordered to have a nice day

Obsessing about Megan Markle

Pumpkin pie

Dr Pepper

Thinking socialised medicine is c*******m

Being afraid of the police

Thinking that the American Revolution and Thanksgiving is of any interest abroad

He's right about everything, except for the socialized medicine point. I don't think it's c*******m and I would like to see everyone with a quality medicare care. There's nothing wrong with universal healthcare if everyone pays their fair share for it---ha ha......One thing that the new Progressive Socialist Party (aka Demorats) keep forgetting. If we wanted to be European, then our ancestors would have stayed in Europe. The whole idea of coming to the colonies was to escape tyrannical oppression and to create a whole new system of government that has worked for a couple of hundred years. Once we k**l off the Progressive Socialistic movement, things should settle back down.....

People (including politicians) fail to understand that there is a huge difference between Socialism and "social services" which is what the dems vindicate and what non-c*******t countries have implemented for decades.

Sulph**e is not a word that I use very often. I can pronounce aluminium either way, so I guess I'm bilingual?

Had a niece who lived in London for a few years. We skyped with her at Thanksgiving. She generally had her own Thanksgiving celebration and the locals were happy to join in.

Your buddy totally or almost totally nailed it!!
One of the few ways the average American would know & agree with these almost t***hs is by going abroad even if that is limited to say a weekend in Canada ---
There is one minor factual error --- "V****g for Trump" --- The majority of Americans did not!!!

You be bass ackwards. The majority of early settlers were outcasts "back home" because of their leaders' beliefs that they were above the laws of secular society. Hence the "Pilgrims" and "Puritans". We still have vestigial remnants of them. The Pilgrims and Puritans- and Pullman. Ford, Edison and Carnegie- believed they (and their managers) were entitled to look thru workers windows and dictate their home life. We're still getting ground down over privacy and freedom issues.
Socialized medicine is a product of evolved civilization. Obamacare was really Bushcare without all the overhead, grift and graft. Bush accepted a sliding scale for copays and a 65% overhead rate as an unavoidable condition- Obama dropped it to standard copays and a flat 15%. THAT's the problem. True socialized medicine means no need for big expensive insurance companies, with their big expensive salaries, so big expensive lobbyists work on influencing you and your representatives' mindsets.
And the Red team still managed to mutilate the system. California's version was a decent work in progress. Successfully. Emergency rooms were emptied of most non emergency medical issues. Many small and medium employers looked at their HR costs and admin overhead- cleaned house- and just paid for Obamacare for all employees. Saved everybody a lot of trouble, resentments and money. Pennsylvania was a disgrace. The Red team managed to add enough bill riders and policy addendums to ensure the Insurance Corps made even more money. Also to make sure the working citizens paid more to get less, and then further blame the problems the Reds made onto "you greedy American workers!"

I had (mis)spent summers there, and I agree. It's not just Markle- a very large and vociferous percentage of our young female population have a cultish fetishism over perceived celebrities. And because there's easy money to be made off of them, our culture encourages them. Kylie Jenner?
Beer is a sacred substance. Sometimes warmish. Has a head on it. It's thick, tasty and a food item. By definition it can only be made from 4 ingredients- American beer can be made with antifreeze, odd weeds, found food and corn syrup without a warning on the label.
Almost always, unless somebody really screwed up, 1 kid stays to help with Mum and Dad. And when Dad retires they may receive a small monthly stipend from each outlier kid. The whole idea of "18 and and out!" "we're done!" is distasteful.
There are whole neighborhoods that, unless you stutter, @ every 7th word is an obscenity.
We have "free" OTA TV channels; the BBC is a government sponsored utility- you need to pay to receive it. They send people around to make sure you paid. You can get a ticket.
You can look at a family and guess their religion. Protestants have 2-3 kids, and the kids act and dress like kids. Jews have 2-3 kids, and they act and dress like little adults. Catholics have 6-9 kids, and the younger ones misbehave in clothes that don't fit.
Bacon is 3/4 cooked. Eggs are runny. Pastries are 1/2 sweet. Haggis- 2 drink minimum. Don't ask what's in that meaty pie or pudding thing. Cucumber sandwiches are funny. Full English- yes!
There's that dry humour. They can seem more serious, kinda stern, waay less rude, a little more tolerant. They may call you a bad name and make you feel good about it.
Hipster wannabes use rhyming slang. Word "A" is like word "B", which sounds like word "C", which might also mean word "D". So we'll use word "D", dummy! "Dummy" can mean "penis" BTW.
Etc. Anymore?

Typical cultish. "If you ain't one of us, you one of them. Drink the koolaid, vile infidel!
Dude! I grew up in Philly- 2nd and Chestnut. Seeing the Liberty Bell, Betsy Ross house, etc was a EZ walk from home or school. There's the blood of 2 Signers in my genetics. A school trip went to Plymouth Rock, back when you were allowed to step on it. Been to Gettysburg? I have 3 relatives buried there. Ever climb the tower that looks like it was made from scrap? Looked down at the little odd shaped clearing in some shrubs? I got laid there. I played in the Hobo Band in the Mummers once.
No lib propaganda- I grew up in and around real history. I'm a genuine conservative, not no Rino "C"onservative carpet bagging choco starfish sucking snake oil salesman.

So, who told you what to say and believe, and other than a sense of belonging to something what do you get out of it?

That used to be the case but now no-one calls round any more, it's all done electronically.
You still a licence to watch any TV channels not just BBC.

Much better than living in a country with a demonic wannabe dictator (Trump).
