Well our OATH has no expiration date, so our conduct should be also. It may not be what people want to hear, but we are the sheep-dogs of the world.
I guess that saying is true: "Once a Marine, always a Marine."

I, like I am sure the majority of retirees, have no problem with that.
This is not just the USMC, but all branches of the service. They military is kicking out of service, Generals, for sexual harassment, let alone sexual assault. And, you can be kicked out of the service, for having an affair with another service member's wife or husband. A woman Senator, who was a fighter pilot in the USAF, said she was sexually assaulted when she was a pilot. The USAF issued an apology today. Behave yourself, in and out of the military today, when it comes to sexual assaults and sexual harassment. Or? The male Officer, who assaulted the Senator from Arizona, must be very nervous right now. She didn't report the incident, figuring it would hurt her career.
The link offered no specifics, but simply stated if you're still on the "payroll" or are subject to recall due to your reserve status, you are still subject to the UCMJ.

I knew two Officers who were discharged from military, who told me they could be called back into the military for active duty. This was a concern to them, just after 9-11-01. But, none were recalled. Both were retired with at least 20 years of military service, and on the retired payroll. The Navy Seal, who is accused today, of murder of a terrorist in Iraq Is being recalled, for a court martial, under the UCMJ. He has many supporters. Many feel it is an injustice. A case with much anticipation. But, I feel he will be found not guilty at his court martial.

Well, according to that ruling, a retiree is afforded federal law enforcement protection then - in other words, if you mess with a retiree - it is a federal offense...
This can of worms and expenses they just opened up will end up costing the taxpayer big $$$. A retiree that has been wronged can demand the FBI get involved and push for federal investigations and prosecution.

I hope she names names.
Being a recently appointed Senator in Arizona, where the late Senator McCain was Senator. She could definitely get an investigation started. All she has to do, is file a complaint, with a name and rank of the Officer who assaulted her, to the Secretary of the Air Force. I doubt she will do it though. Her announcement was a warning, to any US serviceman, who would dare, sexually assault a woman in the military today.
I just wonder how much the Air Force would apologize if she was not a Senator? I do believe that sexual (and other forms of) harassment should be prosecuted, and time is not of the essence here. She should go back and name names. Once a sexual predator, always a predator, and taking them off the street is the only way to stop the behavior.

If you clicked on the link to the full article there were plenty of specifics. WHY are people too lazy to actually READ the full article but have all the energy in the world when it comes to leaving an asinine reply?

I hadn't read my Commissioning certificate in about 50+ years, but as I understand the wording to "...serve at the pleasure of the President.", I could be recalled at any time; why they would want an eighty year old (as of Monday) officer of any grade for any job is beyond my comprehension. I sure as heck can't "do" Company Commander these days.
