Ah, the time-honored tradition of street busking for a few dollars... I did that on the streets of NY once upon a day...

Out of curiosity, how did it work out. I know of a man who, during the Great Depression, required all of his kids to learn a "street" instrument in case of a worst-case situation.

Well, it was more of a pastime than it was a way to make rent... but I learned a great deal about human nature, compassion, and about basic human civility - where it existed and where it didn't! Great experience...
