We had low water conditions and no rain in the forecast. Perfect for a first time hike up the Virgin River.

Absolutely beautiful set. What a journey!
When we were there heavy thunderstorms were predicted so we passed on the hike.
Despite incessant warnings not to go in, people did and it cost one guy his life.

Yep, the canyon walls had lots of texture, height and curves. The water changed speed, color and clarity. Very nice.

You are wise. The signs are posted at the bus stop, but I've heard that people have lost their lives because of what can't be seen coming from upstream. There were several times in the narrows that I looked around and picked out perches I thought would be our escape if the stream swelled.

It is, we would like to return. There are dry paths along the river for many spectacular views of the canyon. And 2000ft+ elevation change hikes if that's your thing. It's very relaxing in Springdale too.
