Has been clement enough for collecting. The following is what is in a handful of leaf litter from under a log. I collect into 6 by 9 inch carryout containers. Instant terrarium. Lable to location and sort at leasure. Can be kept in the vegetable drawer (depending on spouses' tolerance) indeffinatly.
Canon T2I with 39 mm tubes, 40/mm lens and an odd flash/ flashlight unit.
Hope you find interesting. P.S. There was a LOT of creatures MUCH smaller.
Bill
The last I was not sending till I saw three blurry creatures, not one. I have done better with this rig, so FYI on collecting, not photography.
Nite, all.
Bill

Looks like fun poking around in there! The ground beetle is pretty handsome.

They may have the most offensive defensive smell in the carabididae.
And yes, this is a fun way to collect. Put a pile on a piece of white paper and hang a small but hot bulb over. Get a vial of alcohol and an artist brush ready. Harvest the exodus of creatures. The Berlieze funnel heat and negative phototropism principle (but you knew that). Or get the camera ready. NOW you will have some sport, moving targets.
Thanks for commenting, Mark.

That was a good haul for a handful of litter, I must try that. I wouldn't be too happy about having it in the fridge though.

Great set and a great find. Nice looking beetles, woodlouse and centipede too. Your centipede has much longer front limbs than the ones I find around here so I suspect it is a different subspecies. Thanks for sharing.
