I'm not sure I completely understand what you are asking.
That said ...
You can upload the image as jpeg or FITS to astrometry.net to get some identification of the stars. Then use a skychart program, e.g., Stellarium, to place the section in the sky.

Is that helpful or have I missed your question?

Can you tell me the date and time this was taken and in what direction you are aimed. I am trying to recognize any bright stars and haven't yet succeeded.

OK I have it figured out. You are looking south (or south east or south west depending upon time of the year and/or time of night) and I see your star formation near the top and about 1/3 of the way over starting at the left. These stars are dim enough that they don't have real common names, although I can see their names if I hold the mouse over them using Starry Night. You will need to download to see the stars. And there doesn't seem to be any type of Asterism name for these stars.

Beneath your stars is the Teapot (Sagittarius) and to the lower right is the Fish Hook (Scorpius).

FYI -- I am adding a picture showing where the center of the Milky Way is located. See if you can see the massive black hole? Actually there is so much dust that you can't see the center of the galaxy. But radio telescopes can!

Also: There are 3 planets in this view I gave you. Venus is the bright one towards the lower left. Saturn is to the left of the Teapot. And Jupiter is the bright one above and to the right of the teapot. But I also hid the horizon since with it indicating 8PM, it is well below the horizon this time of year. And it won't be rising until after 5AM as the sun is rising, so there is no chance of seeing this right now. Will be easier in the summer.
