My last shoot of the season. They made it to Sectionals, but lost in overtime by 6. But it was a great game and they all played hard!

Now maybe the Traveling BB team!!

Thanks Jules for the help. The lighting in the gyms is so different. #2 will be on the traveling team again if there is one , so depends where they are if I will shoot. ISO was 5000 Shutter 1/1000 Manual and back button focus

Sensor: You don't need 1/1000 to stop the girls action. They are not as fast as the guys. Drop down to 1/640 - 1/800 same iso. More light for you.
Good luck to no. 2

I agree with Jules that you CAN drop you speed a bit if absolutely needed, and I sometimes do that as well. That said, my personal minimum (preference) for girls basketball IS 1/1000th. Your point about choosing where and when to shoot is also vitally important. For example, when a player jumps, there is a brief time when the action actually stops when they reach the height of their jump and before they return to the floor. If you can get that moment (continuous shooting CAN help here), you may just get a great shot. Keep shooting. Best of luck.

Most of my sports work is done with my D5 and some with my D850.

Thank you cjc2. I have 1 Nikon D3300 Not fast enough. It is my grab camera for quick shots. Before I got the Canon 7D Mark11, in 2018, I was thinking about a Nikon, but had lenses from 30D and 50D and 7D. So I stuck with Canon. Thanks for getting back
