Feeding the Birds

Went to a local park to feed the birds -- the chickadees, nuthatches, titmice, and downy woodpeckers will actually land in your hand!

Canon Rebel T6
Canon EF100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM
Manual exposure
f/4.0

Here are my images that are post processed and cropped. What do you think? How can I improve? Any suggestions? Which is your favorite and why?

Exposure and focus spot on. They're all pleasing. The White-Breasted Nuthatch (seed in mouth) is most appealing for me, because there is action which gives you a sense of the subject's existential reality and activity. The only other aspect that springs to mind is the angle of view (i.e. a compositional element). The pics were all taken from the level typically associated with human vision and therefore 'ordinary'. What would make them better would be a unique level of view. You need a remote trigger and catch 'em on their level! Best regards, Johann.

Thank you Johann! Kind of feedback I'm looking for! Yes, they are very "ordinary." Still need to purchase a good tripod -- that will certainly help!

There's the golden ratio/fibonacci spiral concept that you might find useful. Though not much of landscape/bird photographer myself, I have applied this with some success in the past. There's a lot of info on the web. It essentially helps you line-up the chosen focal point with a point in your camera frame. You could use it to analyse your pics above. Photographers report that the whole process becomes more intuitively accurate over time, id est. you eventually just have a natural feel for where in the frame you want to place the point of primary focus. I have just looked at 'pysanka', and didn't know it existed as an art form. Quite exquisite.

Ooops. Sorry. These were finished images. I did not read the "rules" post. Will adhere to the rules in the future. Thanks for bringing this to my attention!

Isn't anyone monitoring this section anymore. The rule is supposed to be one picture at a time. I enjoy doing an honest critique but I'm not going to do it if there's more than one.

Sorry -- I neglected to read the rules before I posted.
