Image taken on the side of Burtonville Rd, located in Fultonville, NY. I was drawn to the scene by the colorful flowers and tried to compose a pleasing photo by incorporating the fence and forest in the background. The focus is on the flowers and the background is intentionally softer to not distract from the main subject. I Intended the picture to invoke memories of carefree drives along rural roads.

Critique, comments and suggestions always welcomed. Thanks.

This is a very appealing shot. The fence was a good decision and the photo definitely arouses memories of springtime drives in the country.

I also posted this image in the Landscape Photography section and a member there suggested a 16:9 crop to accentuate the flowers more. So here it is.

I like the flowers and the fence very much. The big tree trunk in the background is a bit distracting. In the cropped image, which I do like better, I would either crop a little more or use the clone tool to get rid of the last of the trunk.

I hope this means spring is right around the corner.

Thanks for your thought regarding the photo Bill. A friend of mine who I showed the picture to prior to posting it here, also said he thought that trunk was distracting and that someone would point it out.

Not sure about spring quite yet. We had a snowstorm here on Long Island on March 22 of last year.

Love country fence line photos...another good shot would be to get closer to the fence, and get down lower, if possible, and have the fence fading out in the distance...good job!!

If it were me I would have moved more into the field of Lupin(?) and take a longer picture of the fence and the flowers. It is still a very nice picture.
