Yep. Your right. Any suggestions what to try next?
I really liked this project and probably learned more about lighting doing this then reading books the last couple of years. I'll keep playing with this trying different techniques with lights, reflectors and speedlights.
Again a big THANK YOU for your time & help.

OK-Next assignment! Find something that interests you- other hobbies or something to do with your work. Music, firearms, collectible antiques, electronics, stamps or coins, athletic gear, whatever- and let me know. Then I come up with a theme for you.
I have been reading books, taking classes and studying photography on an academic level since I was a kid. Nothing wrong with that but I think that I learned more in the first week I was on the job as a young apprentice than all the cumulative knowledge I had ascertained to that point. My first boss and mentor cast me into the darkroom (dungeon) and dragged me off to weddigs to assist. In the off season he sent me to his cousin who ran a commercial studio up town. Within a month I was shooting kitchen appliances for a catalog. Hands on!
Let me know what you wanna shoot!

The old violin sounds interesting- perhaps some sheet music as props. Bringing out the wood grain would be a goal and using the bow to create an interesting line. The old 78s would be nice with an old phonograph. What do you think?
Here's a shot I did for a CD cover- Ancient Music for the Flute.

I'll dig out the violin and find some props.
Have an idea using an old rocking chair.
I'll start a new thread this week end
Thanks
