A Few Head Shots...
Lucky me, some guy left the hatch to his live well open on his boat that was tied to the dock down at the boat ramps, it would seem that the pelicans were more afraid of missing out on a shrimp sandwich than they were of me. Unbelieveably my lens was actually too long to properly frame these birds.

Nice set! Pretty funny - I just this minute submitted a set I called "head shots in the wetlands: breeding season finery".
Lucky you is right. They were practically in your lap. Way to go!
Great closeups. Hunger is a powerful force.

I'll have to check it out, I have a friend down near where you live who is a birder, I am sure you have seen his posts here, Martin Fisher, he knows some wonderful rookeries down in that part of the state, a real nice guy, we met here although we have never met in person he is always up for someone to shoot with him. You should check him out, a nice guy and easy to meet plus down in your end of the state.
Thanks guys, I have never gotten such detail in feathers before, these images are quite good downloaded.
Beautiful individually and has a set.
