I very rarely use Affinity Photo. I recently got a bug about IR pictures since a member recently posted one. So I started looking at the Filters tab in Affinity. The first is the original, second is Solarize and last is Monochrome Dither. I found these interesting and wondered if anyone uses any of the filters on a regular basis. They seem to be just something to play with to me. Just to be creative?

Affinity Photo is my editing program. As you most probably know it has lots of parameters and can do practically anything. My most used filter is Haze Removal that I use to bring fine details to the sky.

I'm surprised there's so little chatter about Affinity Photo. I've ditched Photoshop and find Affinity much more "friendly" and even more powerful that Photoshop. Takes a bit of getting used to, but well worth the effort!

I too use Affinity and like it a lot. I am considering dropping PS except that I cannot center images when printing with Affinity. So I still revert back to PS for printing. Does anyone else have that problem? What is the solution?

I agree; I wish there more talk about Affinity. I'm in the learning phase now and I really like this program.

Have zero experience with Photoshop, but from what I read the two programs are very similar; true? I ask because I wonder if some of the UHH guidance re Photoshop post-processing steps can't also be applied to Affinity projects.

A lot of Photoshop processing is pretty much the same in Affinity Photo. The main differences I have found so far is some key shortcut combinations are slightly different. You can download the shortcut references for Affinity Photo and also for Affinity Designer here:

Affinity Phoo has carried the "layers" concept to the nth degree, making estensive nondestructive processing possible. The learning curve is steep, but Serif provides a multitude of tutorials. There's also a book, but save your money; it's not very helpful unless you just need inspiration.
