Here are three images, taken with the same lens, Tamron 150-600mm at 600mm, at the same ISO (1600) but with different f-stops and shutter speeds. Each has its own value. I present them for your pleasure and comments.

I like #1. My only question is why did you use such a high iso? If this is a stupid question I apologize.I am fairly new here.

Wanted to grab the shots right away. No time for a tripod. Hand held the zoom at maxi power, needed a high shutter speed and small aperture for maximum focus clarity. ISO 1600 isn’t too bad as far as pixelization is concerned. At this setting, the image is underexposed intentionally to bring out the lunar textures. I enhanced that in Lightroom to bump up the contrast. Sorry for the long answer.

You don’t need a small aperture for the moon. The moon is very bright. Use your largest aperture and minimum ISO and you will get much more detailed images.

Handheld seek a shutter speed of 1/lens mm setting and hogh speed release. Take at least five image bursts while steadying camera and pick the best.

Sorry I did not realize the shots were hand held. They came out not bad for hand held and that explains the high iso

Nice shots of the Super Snow Moon. I did the same thing this morning with the same lens at 600mm. I'm learning to really like this lens. It's sharp enough that I bought a tracking mount to get some deep sky objects.
