That’s a great, sharp picture. The first time I saw one was when I worked down in south Texas. I thought it was a funky looking Cardinal until I saw many more and finally looked it up in my bird book. I do like Desert Cardinal for a name. Much easier for this East Texas boy to pronounce than Pyrrhuloxia.
