Having used one a few times the SAW is one of my favorite weapons. These are all great photos...even the first one which shows the weapon totally not ready for use. Would have been nice if you could have gotten a couple of shots of the weapon in use.

Oops, my bad...it was ready after I went back and looked again. That weapon also accepts the thirty round M16 mags.

You mean the SAW will accept M16 mags?

Not the M249, it is 7.62, not 5.56

NO, the SAW is 5.56 and will accept M16 mags...the M240 is the machine gun that replaced the M60 and is the 7.62 version...a great improvement over the M60. The SAW is an awesome weapon and can fire from the plastic drum, or a mag, or straight belted.

My son has shot both the M240 and the M249. He much prefers the 249. And as for using M16 mags in the SAW, he says, good luck with that. That's a last resort measure, just before you start throwing rocks.

Throwing Rocks works fairly well as long as the rocks are marked M67.
