Finally decided to buy a new D750 from B&H, ordered on Thursday evening, was shipped in two packages was supposed to be delivered Monday, it wasn't . Tracking says one package containing the spare battery was delivered, it WASN'T. (at least not to me) Tracking also says the other package was refused. It wasn't by me. Furthermore, tracking says it was refused in Pittsburgh, my address is NOT Pittsburgh
I called B&H and they say they can do nothing until it gets back to them, IF it gets back to them. I cannot find a number for FedEx
B&H also says they will refund my card when the camera gets back to them, but what about the package they say is delivered, I know of no way I can prove I did not receive it.
I also reviewed my order on B&H,s web site and the address IS correct
Finally decided to buy a new D750 from B&H, or... (show quote)

cmc4214,

Your you will get your D750. If not, it will be the first time a B&H customer is denied reasonable customer service.

Tracking said one package was refused, (not by me) the other delivered witch it wasn't (at least not to me) seems to me that it was sent to wrong address

The delivery day is not "supposed to be", but "estimated". Read the fine print!
Weather, traffic, truck availability - any number of things can postpone delivery.
I find a little patience makes life much more enjoyable.

Their internal tracking system (not the one you see on the internet that the public uses) should be able to indicate where it was actually delivered.

Anyone can go to fedex.com and sign up for a free account. This will provide you with a telephone call from FedEx to let you know anytime a package has been shipped to you, along with the tracking number and projected delivery date. You can leave, online, specific delivery instructions which the driver will see on his display. You can also set up alternative delivery options. Anytime a delivery is made, whether I am home or not, whether I have signed for it or not, within 10-15 min I will get an automated call letting me know that the package has been delivered. All of this takes only a few minutes on the computer and costs nothing.
I wasn't thrilled when B&H switched from UPS to FedEx. Where I live the free UPS shipping was always overnight and the terminal is only a few miles from my house if I needed to have a package held. I have placed a number of orders with B&H as well as other vendors that were shipped FedEx with no problems at all. They have all arrived when scheduled and the drivers have always complied with any delivery instructions I have had. My B&H orders that shipped FedEx have all arrived overnight, just like with UPS.

Tracking has really come a long way. My Echo tells me when my Amazon packages are out for delivery and when they are delivered. It even tells you what is in the package. Somebody was thinking. Before Christmas Alexa would say she is not saying what's in the package to avoid ruining any surprises.

Ha. if I ever got an Alexa, I would re-name it to "Computer".

I couldn't have an Alexa. It would get too confused because every time I heard a female voice in the house I would answer with "Yes Dear"!

there are different FEDEX delivery services. FEDEX GROUND is the lowest and not nearly as reliable as EXPRESS and some others. ground is contractors, other are direct employees. it ain't the company it used to be. all the way to the top.... many supervisors don't know what is really needed to make things operate smoothly only care about the bottom line.... like sssooo many companies today.

To FedEx, B&H is the customer.

Tomorrow call B&H and ask for Henry Posner. He is their ultimate problem solver, and a good guy.

I really wish people would call B&H first and get actual facts before they vent here.

On Black Friday I ordered a Pentax KP and a Pentax 55-300mm PLM lens from B&H. A few days later, just after the packages arrived here, B&H lowered the price of the lens by $20, so I sent them an email asking if they would share the new price with me - and they did.

I worked in the express industry for a number of years not too long ago. FedEx Ground started life as RPS...Rodeway Package Services. FedEx bought the express portion of Rodeway when they decided to get into the ground shipping business and compete with UPS. As far as I know, it is still a separate company under the FedEx umbrella. Different logo, different company colors, etc.

Based on my experience and knowledge of how the two systems work, I would never send a high value shipment by any ground service. Too many days in the system, too many transloads (usually), too much time in non-climate-controlled conditions, and too much handling result in too much opportunity for misrouting, damage, or theft. The one exception in my mind is the US Postal Service, and then only if sent First Class or Priority Mail. The volume of shipments allows for much more direct routing. Shipping via USPS also provides some strong protection in case of fraud or theft.

Smaller packages sent through FedEx are sometimes handled by Smartpost which uses the USPS to deliver packages. Have you checked your mailbox for the package marked "delivered"? If a USPS carrier left it in your mailbox, it would be marked "delivered."

I don't like this change either. At least UPS would ring the doorbell. Fex Ex sneaks up on the porch, drops the package and runs. On the other hand, I was mad at UPS because they evidently cut a deal with USPS for small packages. USPS doesn't even deliver to my door and I don't ever the drop box for mail because it's all junk mail. I'd rather put up with Fed Ex than USPS.

I recently sold my used 5D Mark III to B&H. They sent me my check via Fed-X. Fed-X dropped the envelop with the check on our flat concrete porch that has no weather protection, without knocking or ringing the door bell. It was raining and the wind was blowing. If my wife had not looked out the door and seen the envelop, it might have blown down the block. Fortunately, I was able to dry out the check. The upside is the possibility that Amazon is going to buy Fed-X.

In my area, there is a Kenko shop [printing, copying, etc]
that is open 24/7 and is a "locker" for most parcel services,
certainly both FedEx and UPS. It's no an actual key locked
locker. It's more like an auxiliary terminal. I can use Kenko
as my ship-to address and know that when tracking shows
a delivery it is in a safe place. ID is required to pick stuff
up, so it's quite secure. Beats staying home just to protect
a delivery to my own door ! 24/7, 10 miles from home :-)

Everyone should check to see what similar service is to be
had in their local area. Ours can't be the unique only one !
