I used them many years ago. All my recent purchases are with Adorama.

I have been lusting for a Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 200-500mm f/5.6E ED VR Lens, for some time, so I decided to give Abe's a chance to disprove their BAD Reviews.
So Sunday after saying farewell to my last motorcycle, with cash in my hand I ordered and paid by VISA.

Today I get the phone call I half expected, it does not come with a hood, bag, tripod clamp so I have to buy the attachment kit, so the bait Valentine's Day Sweetheart Deal at https://www.abesofmaine.com/Nikon_AF-S_NIKKOR_200-500mm_f_5_6E_ED_VR_Lens_1028991.html
which clearly shows the tripod clamp at $1089.00, climbs to $1300.00.
I cancelled the order.

Anyone with a good deal available?
I have been lusting for a Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 200-50... (show quote)

A week ago a friend of mine was telling me about the great deal he was getting on a Sony mirrorless camera. He had been researching this camera for a month or so and decided to pull the string and buy it. I asked where he was getting it from. He said Abe's from Maine through Amazon Prime.

I suggested to him to read reviews about Abe's and told him what I had read on this forum. I then brought up UHH and did a search on Abe's. Before I had finished the search he had already cancelled the order with Amazon! He went on to find more about "grey" market cameras and lenses and waited a week and bought it from B&H at a reasonable price with no expectations of any problems. thank you HedgeHogs.

With all the knock offs and clones be passed off for the real thing. I have started to only shop at my local shop, B&H and believe it or not straight from Canon either new or refurbed. Canon give me a great deal whe. I provide my press info. I am more than happy getting what I pay for. Example Canon large fromat Pixma Pro 100 I picked up for $650 straight from Canon. I also have the older model for sale. My current computer set up does not support it. Anyone with decent Comp skills can use it on pre 2017 Mac or Windows op systems. If interested make offer. Works perfectly.

I am a senior citizen that enjoys taking wildlife photos as a hobby. I wish I saw this thread two weeks ago. I feel so stupid. My Cannon Powershot travel camera stopped working and I wanted a bridge camera with a longer zoom. I have been wanting the Nikon Coolpix 900 for a while. I googled it and up came Abes of Maine with a very low price. I should have known it was a scam. The camera was $415. Over $150 less than anywhere else. I upgraded to include the bundle which bought the price to $479, and I added a 3 yr. warranty for another $129......Bringing the total to $608. I was so excited! A couple of days later, I got a call from Abes. The salesman told me he was preparing my order for shipping and pushed me to upgrade the battery. he said the one included was only good for an hour of use. The cost to upgrade? $50.00. He then suggested a faster camera card, another $20.00. My total was now $699. I asked about the warranty and registration and the salesman told me they would register my purchase. I was still excited, but sorry I had not said no to the extras. The camera came today. First thing I noticed was the camera came with a Nikon battery. The battery in the kit was a no-name battery which I had paid $50.00 extra for? The camera card enclosed was the same one pictured in their ad and included in the bundle. I paid an extra $20.00 for what exactly? Now I have a very sick feeling the camera may either be counterfeit or an international model Since they told me they would register it. I don't know if this is customary or not. I feel sick. I waited so long for this camera. All my happiness has been replaced with both sadness and extreme anger. I would just return it but the kicker is they charge another 15% for a return which is highway robbery. I don't know what to do, or who to report their bait and switch to. Can Nikon tell me if the camera is legitimate?

Not in this post, but every seller has had problems with sales and deliveries, as people have posted here. A B&H delivery problem was posted just yesterday, but that was the fault of FedEx, not B&H.

I deal only with companies that have a proven track record: Adorama, Amazon, B&H, Cameta, Costco, Crutchfield, Hunt’s, Robert’s. And I'm sure there are others.

I would also like to give a shout out to 33 St. Camera from whom I just purchased a body because B&H, my usual go to, had discontinued it... Quick service, same price, with ALL the warranties that B&H would have given; gotta spread the word for the GOOD guys...
