You can buy 1tb external drives for $50 why not just copy to something like that? Or buy extra SD cards and just switch out cards. Simple and inexpensive.

There has to be an interposing computer or tablet somewhere to make the transfer. You'd be better off with a LaCie DJI Boss drive with SD slot for what they call "image ingesting." I have configured the DJI to sync with Adobe Cloud for stored images.

What I have never been able to figure out is how to xfer data from the LaCie to my iPad. I usually do it the old fashioned way by plugging the card into my iPad via the Apple dong. If I don’t have the iPad with me I just carry enough cards and store them until I get back home. Other than that the LaCie seems to be the way to go.

That's not just a lot of uploading, that's a lot of spray and pray. Slow down and think more, download less.

I shoot fast and have a very viable ratio of keepers, if that's what you're referring to Bill. YMMV, but all that cloud business for uploading is just too clunky and slow, gimme a fast laptop any day. Even when I'm shooting people flying thru the air, "spray and pray" is not in my idiom. ;0)
