Each October I chase fall colors from West Virginia to Maine. This year I was headed to Vermont when a chance encounter at a rest stop changed my direction. A gentleman said the Adirondacks were peaking and well worth a look. I took his advise and it was very good advise! The fall colors heading up toward Lake Placid were as good as I have ever seen. It was overcast all three days I was there, but the mist in the mountains made the trip worth it.

That's a well taken image in almost all respects in a beautiful area, but sorry, you didn't take it this year......its from Aug 10, 2016. 😉 That pesky exif data tells the truth all the time.....

Why only one, Bridges? This is only a teaser and makes me want to see more.

Another shout-out for more images, Mike. These colors are way too good to just tease us with one beautiful image.

The Adirondacks, namely Saranac Lake, my recommendation and home for 25 years! My wife and I surely miss the Fall Season! Nice photo with the low hanging cloud.

Mark the rest stop on the map as a place to get good advice.

Beautiful image.

You are right and wrong! I just pulled up another shot from that trip and it does say 2016! I am 100% sure it was taken in 2018! OK you UHH geeks, tell me how this can happen. If I set the date in my camera incorrectly, will it produce something like this? If you tell me it can't happen, then I have been in a coma for two years! My friends Dennis and Andy with whom I do my fall trips will be astonished that the fall trip for 2017 to Mabry Mill in Virginia and the fall trip to Colorado in 2016 didn't happen because I was in New York or in a coma!

There’s a LOT to see and do in Adirondack State Park. At over 6 million acres, it’s larger than Glacier, Grand Canyon and Yellowstone National Parks combined.

This is one of the most spectacular areas to view on the east coast; perfect for motorcycling, fishing and photography.

For many of my fall trips I head up to Vermont/New Hampshire area but this past fall really opened my eyes and I will include upstate NY in my future plans. I had been to the Catskills some years ago but this was my first trip to the Adirondacks.

The pesky EXIF really has gremlins! First: You don't get those colors on Aug.10th, Secondly, I just checked the date set in the camera and it shows correctly. How can the EXIF be off that much? Next, I'm going to shoot some shots with that camera and download them today and see if the EXIF is off. I'll update you when I get the shots downloaded.

Not a Geek, but yes, your camera’s date is what goes in the EXIF data. You might want to reset it.

Update: All photos prior to Oct. 7, 2018 show a 2016 EXIF date. I can vaguely remember messing around with the date sometime in the last six months. I was only concerned about the time, but I must have updated all the time/day/year info at that time. Everything from Oct.14th shows 2018.
