Working in a photo studio recently, one of my younger colleagues broke her glasses and was struggling with focusing during sessions. Then I showed her how to use the diopter on the eyepiece. She was ecstatic and didn't realize that's what it was for. Sometimes you get old and and you learn stuff.

She just needs to readjust the diopter when she gets her new glasses.

I haven't had any "senior moments" yet...I'm 51. But this thread has been extremely entertaining to read!!! I'm sure I'm almost there!

You”ll be there before you realize it.

I had a similar situation last year on a cruise. On the first day in Puerto Rico at the fort, I took several photos with my Nikon and when viewing them on the LCD, I had a huge dark strip down the center of the photo. I was horrified that my camera had chosen the first day of an 11 day cruise to break down. I recycled power, changed lens, changed settings, removed the lens and checked out the sensor. Nothing seemed to be wrong, but every photo I took had the dark strip in it. I was in a panic.

Then I took off my polarized sunglasses and everything was as it should be!
