Redo of Hummingbird in poor light - as an oil painting

OK, I decided to try a redo on my hummer in poor light. That noise was just getting under my skin.
I played around, tried Topaz Simplify but none of its gazillion painting filters worked for me so in desperation I went back to Photoshop and browsed the menus. Under "Filter" > "Stylize" I found "Oil Paint". I like it! Then I tweaked the tones a bit to make the feathers and the "swirly" brush strokes look good and here it is. Then I included the first version so folks don't have to hunt for it to compare. Someone asked about the background. It is a weathered board fence about 25' behind the bird, in deep shade.

And on the "oil painting" you really need to Download to see it at its best.

I much prefer the first. But that’s me. Nice work.

Beautiful work, Jerry. I'd print and hang!

I am trying to decide what paper, or even canvas, I have roll of Red River's canvas 13" wide. I do know it will be one of my prints for this month's photo club meeting.

I prefer the first, Jerry--much better detail around the head.

There is, of course, no way to compare the photos. The second one is an example of taking marginal lighting conditions and creating a good photo. The first one however is an example of PS skills of the highest degree. You have created a Cool Dude off for a night at the club.
