Nice shots Vicki...I especially like #2 with the bird on the branch...

I wondered whether anyone would spot that. I didn't see the bird until I cropped the image. It didn't stick around for the other shots.

Many thanks for taking time to reply Charlie. I appreciate it and am glad you enjoyed these.

Proof that you don't have to go too far to find something beautiful to capture. I am partial to the last one Vicki.

Thanks so much Jan. It's true that there are many interesting things to spot right outside the door.

Very nice photo's. I especially like the rim lighting on the branches. You captured them well.

I like to mood of these images very much. We love to visit the Redwood forests where moss covered trees are prolific. I do prefer the warmer tone of #1, before WB correction. I also would crop to make the red flowers more prominent. I do remember the green moss to be a little more saturated.

Mike

I played around with cropping and debated about giving the red leaves more importance. Since I was trying to show the moss, I decided to stick with these crops, thinking the red was more of an accent color.

Thanks for the visit and comments Mike. If you enjoy moss, maybe you've visited Point Lobos just south of Carmel. There's plenty of moss as well as very interesting gold/orange lichen. Plenty of photo ops there for sure.

Dry nice, most people wouldn’t look for this subtlety. Go eye.

I'd seen this tree with this kind of light several times. Wouldn't you know that when I had my camera along, the light was different? We'd just had some rain, and I got lucky with the sun breaking through on this occasion.

Thanks for taking time for this post W90D.

I love these photos but I wish that all the tree elements were sharp.

I suspect the result would have been better if I'd used a tripod and maybe a different lens. I may revisit this effort and see what I can get after the weather improves.

Thanks for the visit and comments bertloomis.

Beautiful set Vicki.

Many thanks Mark. This was kind of an experiment to find out how the light would improve the image if I could arrange to be there at the right time. The light changes greatly in a short amount of time.

Vicki, you caught the moss at the right time, nice job. I've tried unsuccessfully a few times myself. Something about the design or softness of moss which catches my interest too. Bev

I have a different lens that I'm going to start using more regularly. It may pick up more detail. Now all I need is for the light to cooperate (isn't that always the way?).

Thanks for taking time to look and comment NG.

The timing has to be right for this to work, and some days there are too many clouds. I'd been waiting for this moment for several days and got a bit lucky with these shots. I'm going to try again when the weather improves.

Thanks for the visit and comments Ron.
