Number 3 catches the light and color to my taste.

Love the 1st one. You can almost imagine a mossy stick figure about to climb out of the picture.....

I could see these trees come alive as in some Disney feature!

Your photos are of a subject that most would not see. You

Yes, I believe most people walk by things like this without noticing. In this instance, the light highlighted the branches and moss. The recent rain added some "glitter" for special effects. Usually this tree is fairly nondescript and not worth taking a shot.

Yes Vicki, light is everything when taking Photographs. You have caught the light (and shadows) on those trees very well.

Many thanks for the thoughtful comments Doddy. I appreciate your time with this post.

Vicki, the DDLs are awesome and the only thing that I think woule make it better a vertical photo of it. The light and details are excellent and waiting until you got the light was a fantastic learning tool, for me.

Greg

Thanks Greg. I'll probably get some more shots of this tree at some point and will try some vertical shots. Getting any shots was a bit tricky because I had to climb up and balance on a fence. It was difficult to keep the camera steady.

There is definitely something unique about the way moss behaves with light. Lichen also.

I have to agree. Sometimes you don't even notice it.

Vicki, Like the series very much. The various techniques provide a nice variation of the same image.
Well done.

Thanks for the visit and comments Jeff. It's always interesting to see what a couple of "tweaks" will produce.
