Proof that you don't have to go too far to find something beautiful to capture. I am partial to the last one Vicki.

This subject may not appeal to everyone, but this tree has caught my attention on several occasions. Wouldn't you know, many of the days I had my camera along, the light was wrong. Today, I got lucky with the light. I just liked the way the morning sun lit the moss (and some lichen) so that it outlined the branches with green. To top it off, there were some water droplets from a light rain just prior to when I shot these. In post, I played with white balance, so you will notice a color temperature difference.

Advice is always gladly accepted.

Very nice photo's. I especially like the rim lighting on the branches. You captured them well.

I like to mood of these images very much. We love to visit the Redwood forests where moss covered trees are prolific. I do prefer the warmer tone of #1, before WB correction. I also would crop to make the red flowers more prominent. I do remember the green moss to be a little more saturated.

I love these photos but I wish that all the tree elements were sharp.

Vicki, you caught the moss at the right time, nice job. I've tried unsuccessfully a few times myself. Something about the design or softness of moss which catches my interest too. Bev

I'm really liking those! Like you said, the light was superb to capture what you wanted. I'm envious.
