Cedar Waxwings Masked Berry Bandits

I had the good fortune the last few days to host between 26-50 of these beautiful birds! Now that the Pyracantha berries have been depleted they seem to have disappeared! Classic hit & run masked bandits!

I really look forward to their visits as they are only here for a few days if they come at all. I guess the berries were so good (or possibly fermented?) that they were not so flighty & allowed me to get much closer than ever before! Hope you enjoy these...

Their visits are both ephemeral and sporadic. I have a stand of mahonia that they feast on, but not every year. They're here for 2 or 3 days and they're gone.

Thank you SpyderJan, they are kind of special birds aren't they? My Granddaughter always thought they were just brown grey birds until now...she loves the colors now!
