I have found that when you get close to a Kingfisher get
ready for a flight shot.

Very nice shots of BIF. Impressive feather patterns. Too bad the light was not to your advantage to highlight the various blues.
Were these in a short time frame or did he come around again to allow you more prep?

Thank you Tom for taking a look. All these shots were from a short burst.
I heard this kingfisher first and then spotted him in a tree next to the
Arkansas river. I positioned myself with the sun at my back to get the best
light. When it took flight of course it headed toward the sun. Since this is
my first encounter with kingfishers I hope to do better in the future.
I really like the detail in the feathers. Are you able to post your settings? I'm always interested in Birds In Flight (BIF).
