McKee Gardens Part I, Art

Vero Beach, Florida's McKee Jungle Gardens is hosting an art exhibit by renown artist Seward Johnson titled 'Celebrating the Familiar.' Seward Johnson, now 88, a former painter, turned to sculpture, both life-size and monumental. These sculptures depict people in everyday activities and highlighting the mundane and brought a unique voice to the world of art in public places. He currently has over 450 of his life-size bronze cast figures in private collections and museums throughout the world. The sculpture 'Embracing Peace is over 25' tall and really stands out in the gardens
This exhibit will run through April of this year. As an annual member of McKee Gardens, its a nice place to walk, unwind, sit and enjoy the 'jungle.' Small but dense you can find the history of the gardens, which I posted last year, on line. Hope you enjoy just a few of the many pieces of Seward Johnson's 'Mundane'Art' scattered throughout the gardens, regardless of my photo capabilities...
If you're ever in Vero Beach, this is quite a nice place to spend an hour or so
