I don't know if I like the photo more, or the idea of parasailing..
good shot!

Thank you, Pat...and I agree.

The second one might be a little "over processed." LOL

Here's the original image I used to create those abstracts.

In keeping with this challenge, this "vertical" image carries
more weight, and the clear blue sky with the bright colors
of the parasail add weight as well. And then there's the
"leading line" or cable, that leads you to the subject,
my lovely wife.
Thank you, Pat...and I agree. br br The second on... (show quote)

Just one before I go to bed. "The easiest way to achieve [balance] is by using symmetry, as it guarantees left to right, or top to bottom balance. The results look formal, organized, and orderly." I usually avoid symmetry, but here's one from the collection. Taken at Aga Khan Museum in Toronto. Not a mirror, but I think there was a steel wall backing the little snacks kitchen.

Read the article. Not bad ! I'm usually
bored or even disgusted by articles that
offer a "how-to" approach to aesthetics,
but this one was really kinda inneressin
... and short. Short is goooood !

.

Totally agree! Glad you found it helpful!

Likem both!!

"Texture"

Be sure to use the "+" option after
hitting download. Verrrrrry creepy.

The "+" might be delayed a bit due
to the file size, but the image won't
work without sufficient resolution.
IOW, it may load kinda slowly. But
it's a fun pic, so allow time to load !

"Isolation"

The article expounds mostly on the graphic
aspects of compositions. Composition-wise,
I looooove that this shot is such a flagrant
violation of so many guidelines. But as an
example of "isolation" it seems to hold up
well enuf. Plus, it also relies a bit on color
as the red scarf leads us thru all the crazy
clutter to the subject.

"Value" & "Texture"

Genuine natural lighting.
No artificial ingredients.

I don't hardly ever wake
up early enuf to see any
dawn light, so I found it
kinda intriguing ...

A+ You have nailed it in my book! Such as it is!
