Thank you to the VA for my surgery this morning

I had lost most of my peripheral vision, it is interesting how much you can lose without realizing it. My primary care physician noticed my droopy eyelids in November last year and sent me to see the plastic surgeon.
This morning they did a brow lift and it is absolutely amazing how much more I can see.

I can't me more happy or thankful.

I'm so glad you got the surgery needed to correct the droopy eyelids. It is a good story, because you hear so many horror stories regarding VA Medical Centers.

Great news!
I have Kaiser through LA Schools as a retiree. But I have VA as a fallback if something happens to my coverage. I was in country Dec 66-Jan 69 - Army.

I had a brow lift and work done on my eyelids a few years ago for the same reason.
Not at a VA hospital, but also amazing results.👍
Wish you a speedy recovery.

Surgeon is thinking about doing my eye lids too.

How long did you have to protect your scars from the sun. I bought a stetson and will also be using sunscreen

I stayed out of the sun for two weeks. My forehead was numb for months, and parts of my head are still sensitive. But, my eyes are open.
Good luck to you.
The image is a self-portrait taken the day after the procedure.

He did two cuts on me. Following the curvature of my eyes and then off to the side of each. It raised my eye brows so it looks strange right now. He said it will eventually draw the skin down from the top of my forehead and they will be where should. Forehead isn't numb, but it sure feels tight, and it took away the wrinkles there. Im hoping there won't be any permanent scarring at the side of my eyes. Even if there is this new vision is wonderful.

Great to hear how much the surgery improved your vision.
For me too, it was well worth the trouble.

I wont let them get anyway near my head with the knife. They all want to see my brain. They want to know what makes me tick. I have a key hole in the back of my head I use to wind the main spring.
