Lesser Goldfinches Chowing Down

Under the old swing set out of the rain.
Rain - set up camera, slide open door take a few pictures, close door before room gets cold.
Light is poor, even effects AF, esp with low contrast subject. Fill flash helps some, while washing out light colors. But 60+ feet is too far away for high speed sync so any movement at all messes up sharpness. A lot of rejects.
Ah, well it is a way to avoid starting gathering tax papers.

80D, Tamron 150-600 G2 @ 600, 1/250 @ f/10, ISO 640
on tripod with flash at 60'+

I just realized my main problem with the fill flash, it makes the surroundings and back ground look like a sunny day. Raining now and about 3X as many birds under there now. I moved all the seed feeders but one under the swing set - a bit crowded.

Raining too much to set up in the yard closer - So stay in family room -set up camera, slide open door take a few pictures, close door before room gets cold.

Note to self, read books on flash bought over the years and not yet read, just browsed for pointers.
