Super Bowl? There was a Super Bowl? Oh, well, missed it and don’t care. Quit watching football since it went political.

Apparently the game highlight. Gladys Knight singing the National Anthem.

She looks amazing! And sings better than ever!

No, you’re missing the point. They’re paid to play a GAME, they’re political opinions should be expressed on there own time. They are not the oppressed, but certainly many of them have had run in with the law.

To you it's a game to them it's a job! Most will say they are very lucky to be able to play a kids game as a job!

Many people have had run-ins with the law. I'm not sure what point that has to do with the discussion.

She was always a classy lady, and she didn’t buckle under pressure not to perform by the anti- American crowd.

Sorry it’s so difficult for you to understand the point. Have a great day.

I thought she did a pretty good job. Most singers butcher the Anthem.

Long live the NFL, College Football, and High School Football. I love them all. And I'll be watching it until I can't watch it anymore. All the College football players dream of playing in the NFL. Just like Tom Brady and Russell Wilson. And there will be a 2019 NFL Season, starting in early September. And people will be watching it. Despite a 10% drop in the ratings.

I agree. I thought it was an exciting game. Great defenses going toe to toe! That's why soccer is not as popular. Most observers don't want to learn the nuances of the game. Feel sorry for them.

Soccer is the most popular game world wide.

You are correct. In other countries they call it football. Which is why Americans call it Soccer. To not have confusion. In Latin America, it is called Futbol.

I like the term applied by some journalist..."the Snoozer Bowl"...it was the worst SB game I've ever watched.

NFL... Political nonsense! Tired of seeing full-grown men acting like self-entitled princesses.

I've been a luke warm Carolina Panthers fan since 1996. But even when they're not in it, I usually watch the Super Bowl. So I watched this game. It was rather boring. New England in the Super Bowl again? Yawn. The halftime show was lukewarm at best. Even the commercials weren't particularly creative this year... They had too many special effects and not enough clever stories.

The NFL has made many blunders over the last decade or so. Probably the biggest one is not dealing with injury avoidance and prevention strategies more aggressively. Owners and players both allow themselves to be bossed around by political forces, instead of standing up for their rights to free speech.

It has never REALLY been about the game... It has always been about the money! People have put up with too many silly commercials, ridiculously high ticket and concession prices, lopsided rosters, owners who don't care about winning but just want to fill seats... Now the professional sports entertainment value proposition is losing its aura. That loss is trickling down to college sports as well.

My three young adult children won't watch any longer. They think the whole system is racist and rigged.

What's wrong with a bully pulpit? Our prez certainly uses one.
