The creek near my cabin in the local hills began running a couple days ago from the recent rains here in Southern California. This view creekside attracted my eye.
The soft lighting from an overcast sky helped with the tonality by a fine gradation. As a technical matter, I memorized the coloration of the moss on the leftmost boulder to keep a trueness of overall image color, for verisimilitude. The overall slight blue hue I left in place to present the subject as perceived.

I like this a lot. Have always found the forms at the base of trees to be of special interest, especially when so much is exposed.
Thank you. The tree seems to have adapted to flows of the creek eroding soil around its roots. Yes, very interesting.
