Replacement Skies Post Processing

This is a photo that I took at the Biltmore Mansion in NC this past fall. It was a cold overcast day so the sky was quite bland which you can see in the first photo.

The second, third and fourth photos are replacement skies that I did in Photoshop CC 2017 using an action and masking. I picked some dramatic skies solely to illustrate the replacements in comparison.

Great job. The last one with the lightning bolts are very dramatic. Is that from a stock image you have?

The first image is taken from my camera. The replacement skies are stock images that I used as replacements simply to show what is possible using Photoshop actions and masking. The intensity of the replacement skies can be increased or decreased to suit one's likes.

Fun demonstrations, thanks so much for posting. MinnieV's "share" thread is here with hers and other folks' entries, if you are interested in checking it out.

In that thread is one suggestion I particularly liked - to take a photo of a more colorful area of sky (such as at sunset) right at time of the original shot so you can replace later. Always watch for how the light is falling on subjects, of course.
