Great catch. l would like to see a tighter vertical crop with just the three center flags, making the guy larger and putting more emphasis on him. Just an idea.

Yes! Note how the subject man stands out more, and the r/w/b of the flag mimicked in the r/w/b colors around the man is now more apparent. Also for some reason elements in "threes" work well.
