There is a great new book out "The Birth Of Loud" by Ian S. Port. It is non fiction about Leo Fender,
Les Paul and the guitar-pioneering rivalry that shaped Rock 'N' Roll.
It is a great inside view of development of the electric guitar and how it shaped music. Very well written
and full of history. If you are a guitar player it is a must read. I don't play myself, but am a singer born and raised in Southern California. I may be prejudiced since the Author is my Nephew-in-law, but is still
a great book.
I have an old ('63) Fender Kingman flatop. This will be a good history book!

The Musical Instrument Museum in Scottsdale, Az, has an ongoing special exhibit on the 'Electric Guitar, an American Icon'. Very interesting, lots of history on the instrument and good narratives from the headphones as you walk through.
