I was very happy the way the new lens performed last night at a flag football game. (Senior Night)
Here are some. Comments and suggestions always welcome. Later in the game iso 8000, started around iso 4000 then went up from there. 1/640-1/800 at 2.8 Auto white balance. Did not remove noise, why? I don't want to soften the images.

Excellent shots all clean and crisp to me. What camera body were you using?

Very nice pictures. You have to really zoom in to see what little noise is there. Great low-light performance from camera, lens, and photographer!

Thanks for taking the time to view and comment. The upgrade of lens makes a big difference.

Hi Jules. Wonderful. I agree with Sensor that the last of the set you posted (#5) is the best. That is one fantastic image!!!!

The new lens, even though just a new version of the old, really seems to suit you and your work. Now you have me curious how “old” my 70-200 f2.8 VR2 really is. I bought it used from a UHHr when I started (in fact, I knew that I needed that lens for my sports work so much, I bought the lens 4 months before I even owned my 7200!). Do you know if there is a way, maybe by serial number, to tell tof what “generation” a lens belongs?

Keep shooting. No sports for me this winter (we are skiiing, and I can only fit an iPhone in my coat pocket). Spring T&F starts in about 4 weeks

David
