The thousands of ducks and geese that visit the Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge complex have demonstrated a consistent behavior pattern over the years. These refuges are surrounded by many square miles of rich agricultural land much of it in wet rice and most of it heavily hunted. Beginning at sundown each evening, when the hunting day is over, the sky is filled with birds flying off the refuge. They return each morning before the shooting starts. Good for them!!
Nice images Phil.
