Everyone knows about the Wasatch Mountains that are east of the Salt Lake Valley and home to great skiing. Lesser known are the mountains to our west - the Oquirrhs. Today is a clear day and with the sun rising, the Wasatch is in deep shadow. I decided to take my car and my cane and try the Oquirrhs.
The attached are all taken with a Sony a7RIII and a Sony 24 - 70mm GM lens (at 70mm). They were merged In Lightroom. The first three were taken on a tripod in manual. The next two were handheld on auto.
I would appreciate any suggestions or comments as to improvement in these shots. I am just finding my way in panos.

Very nice work, Mike.
I've found with pano work, set everything to manual, including autofocus, meter for the middle of the scene and go from there. That seems to work well.

Thanks, Bob! The 23 degree temperature added an interesting zing to this morning's efforts. I used manual, but was way off on the f/stop. Thank goodness for Lightroom.

Thanks for looking. It is pronounced "oaker".
Love the shots. I am not sure I understand how Spherical works. Can you explain?

Thanks for your kind comments. The Lightroom photo merge gives three different projection views. I usually try "Perspective" because that is a straight tacking together of the photos. However, when the subject is very long (as with 10 or more photos) the program cannot do "Perspective" and either a "Spherical" or "Cylindrical" view is used to allow fitting the photos together. To me the "Spherical" is less distorted.

Very nice pano's, not sure where those are.

Thanks, Dick. My poor spelling is misleading. The Oquirrh Mountains are on the western side of the Salt Lake Valley. The more famous Wasatch Mountains border the eastern side.
