This is a tiny image, please download and enlarge to full screen. I liked it too much to discard. How do you find the pp?

There's that pesky color space issue again - much pinker in download. Re the pp, it seems to fit the expression of the subject, which I interpret as distressed or unhappy. The image is unsettling for me as viewer. If that is your intention - or if to get us to think about and consider our reaction, then it is a success IMO.

I've not studied art, so I don't know how - if at all - you might be giving us a message re the title ( is it "The Scream" by Edvard Munch?). Hoping you'll share more about your intent and your personal attachment to the result. Many thanks for a provocative post, Dave!

1. It looks better in the download. 2. Not my style, sorry.

Yes, download essential. It’s fine that it’s not your thing John, I doubt it’s for many. I’m hoping it will generate a bit of discussion regarding the pp I’ve used.

Is it unsettling because she looks unhappy or because of the composition Linda?
I’m not trying to get too deep into it really, it’s just the way it struck me. She was across the other side of a large cafe area in a country park, in discussion with another young lady whose back was to me. An open laptop sat between them and never left its opening Windows page through my visit. It appeared the lady in the picture was trying very patiently to get a message across without much success. I wondered if she might scream! The processing was the nearest I could acquire quickly that gave some feel of Munch - I don’t need everybody telling not to copy, find my own thing etc., it’s just a feeling I had, portrayed as I felt it. You seem to have summed it up pretty well Linda.

Very interesting to hear the backstory and your thought process.

I didn't recognize as female. Kind of looks like a gentleman in costume from the 18th century. I confess to not paying much attention to the composition; it was all about the pp and person's expression. Good exercise, Dave!

I like your treatment very much. I think it emphasizes the lines and expression in her face, especially her eyes. I also like that it is almost monochromatic, again bringing attention to the face. The only thing I question is all the space behind her. She looks jammed up against the right side. I think I would have rather had the space in front of her but that is just my personal preference. Great job.

Thanks for your comments Keni. I think the composition is increasing the (her) stress? That was the idea anyway.
