The folks that own one are probably not looking for to get rid of it, unless there is something wrong with it!

Yes sir I have that and Fred Miranda all on notice as well as this site. I will give it a month. I won’t need it until spring anyway.

They are around, now. With the Olympics being held next year they will become very scarce. There was one offered on this site not too long ago. As far as condition, the lens is used by professionals and most of them know that taking care of equipment is critical to making it last. Expect to pay big bucks for it. The lowest price I have ever seen is in the mid-upper $8000 range, and owners do not "negotiate". Most people are very surprised at the weight of the lens, it is heavy. That fact makes it difficult with which to work. Nothing else can offer a constant f/4.0 at 200mm to 560mm in one lens! Canon watches them like hawks. Buy a copy and Canon puts you on their Christmas card mailing list. It is an experience shooting like no other lens. Version I of the EF 600mm is about the same weight, get one of those and work with it to experience it. You will like the lens, if you can live with it.

I have a 400 2.8 L non IS and it’s heavy so I will be used to the weight. Good point about the Olympics. I have 7500-8000 cash so I am ready. Thank you

Cyberbo60,
I have a 200-400mm F4.0L with 1.4x built-in converter which I have been thinking of selling. Why? Because my right shoulder needs replacement and I have difficulty handling this lens. I have moved to a Sony RX-10 Mark III bridge camera with a 24-600mm Zeiss lens.
I purchased the 200-400 from B&H in Feb 2015 for $11,999. It’s a great lens, works great, and is in Mint Condition.
If you’re interested, I’ll take some photos of it for you.
