Jerry, great photo of this female squirrel. You sure did capture great detail.

Greg

An added comment, I wish I could find a feeder that is truely capable of keeping the squirrels out of the bird food.

Thank you

Would you like a Unicorn with that?

Or you could set up a raptor feeder, stocked with meat chunks for the hawks and owls. The squirrels might leave that alone.

Jerry, I love the idea of a raptor feeder, it is just so funny. We used to use dummy owls to keep birds off the boats. Wail a minute, I want the birds. Thanks again for the great laugh. Greg

I have one whole folder I call “feeder wars” of squirrels learning how to circumvent each new way I try to protect the birdseeds. Some of their attempts are quite fun to watch, but they always win in the end since I refuse to put the feeders 40 feet away from the house and 40 feet up multi-baffled poles.

Cute shot Jerry. I have tried several "squirrel-proof" feeders. No such thing. I gave up and just enjoy their antics.

I have a folder labeled "Squirrel Adventures" and in it is one sub-folder "Squirrel Rodio". I also have a little Jack Russell mix who makes sure the squirrels get lots of exercise.
She can be sleeping and I say the word "squirrel", seconds later I hear the doggie door at the other end of the room flapping and that sound starts the squirrels running and climbing to safety.
