Left Miss Tuesday, now Rory, to the right on the bed is Darcie AKA Kriss Sno). Playing around while getting into their make up prior to shooting The Three Monkeys.

Nice setting. Would prefer more brightness and crop out some of the left scenery.

Ho-hum snapshot.

I picture the situation as the photographer firing off a volley of candid unposed unplanned shots to “document” the upcoming photo session, and this is one of them. The odds of getting a keeper or “photograph” are slim.

Reason for posting? To show naked ladies, that’s all. The image does not merit evaluation or critique.

Ho-hum [yawn].

Have you never heard of 'documentary' or 'reportage' photography?

There are many reasons for taking photos, but I thought the main reason for posting them on UHH is to help people improve their photographic skills. Aspiring photographers post examples of their work in hopes of constructive feedback; accomplished photogs share photos that exemplify quality photography; and of course, readers post critiques, comments, and opinions that allow others to learn what makes or breaks a photo.

There are also a few other reasons that folks post images here: sharing accomplishments (you); vanity; exhibitionism; sharing a memory; demonstrating processing techniques and skills; etc; etc; etc; ...

Yes, the list of reasons would be long.

But the only thing that posting the subject photo did for me was add another brush stroke to my mental image of the photographer’s skills, talent, style choices, discretion, etc, in choosing to share this photo as demonstrative of his talent.

Once again, ho-hum.

Yes I have heard of this area of photography, often referred to in modern discussion as 'street photography' yet that does not make sense in regards to this image. This piece of imaging is perhaps more in line with Cartier-Bresson's 'decisive moment' in certain respects but as well the master of reportage Wee Gee.

The value of slices of life that the 'snap shoot' image hold would be the tension set up by the left figure (Missy) grasping her hat along with the curling of her toes with her foot (heightened erotic tension) and the 'gaze' of the right hand bed seated model (Darcie).

I wished that I could have had a greater opertunity to do a more classic snap shot style image, but there were no trees to have growing out of either models head (irony intended), so instead I placed the model's head aligned with that of the head upon the shelf. This coupled with the oddly placed hat on the seated model that almost appears to a cartoon like cut out positioned on her head that adds to the bizarre quality of the image.

I do apologize to all for failing to keep this image in the realms of the snap shot styling, after all snap shots should have that amateur foot print, which this does not, due to the detail of the exterior window view not being blown out along with the light bulb not flaring, let alone the subdued over all contrast of the sense of interior space. My crude attempt to achieve a look similar to that of a diffused flash bulb interior, made with a number 25 flash bulb in a 4X5 press camera on Kodak Pancro Press Type B film just can't seem to get as close as that work done by the great master Wee Gee.

Well, Tim, you can describe all the technical detail that went into creating this masterpiece, and you can compare the intent/result to a bunch of artists that I never heard of (not being an MFA graduate), but IMHO you failed to evoke my “wow” factor. A very small number of my snapshots turned into award-winning photographs; I think you should chalk this photograph attempt up as an accidental snapshot. [Yawn]

Have to agree wholeheartedly. Sorry Timmers but doesn't hit the spot with me either. Flat lighting, distracting background that has filled in so much most of the detail is indiscernible.

I like behind the scenes images and take quite a few myself. Like John said, you rarely get a good image but if you don't shoot them at all you don't get any, LOL.

The facial expression of the right-hand model is a bit awkward, but other than that I like it. Take the model on the left and put her in that hat, with that expression, on paper or a less cluttered background and you have a wonderful shot. I happen to like the subdued, flat exposure, it gives the image a vintage look. If it wasn't for a couple of items in the room (LED light bulb and plastic hangers) this photo could be 70 years old. I had a thought that if either model was famous or infamous it would be a wonderful historical shot. Hold on to it, perhaps in time one of these women will be either famous or infamous.

Thanks Infinity, I rather regard both of these women as infamous right now!

It is true, we shoot and make some images. I plan to do photographs, with out the shooting and posting what would we have to look at, let alone speak about.
