Cut and paste is one of the easiest PP skills to learn, but can create some surprisingly good results. It is easy, but can be quite time consuming. The first set of images was simple. Just paste a moon into an image. Very little tome or effort involved. The hardest part was finding a moon that did not look too out of place in the photo.
The second set required much more time and effort. Selecting the eagle and the tree was a delicate process, and then making sure it did not have the cut and paste look took quite a while at the single pixel level. I think the results were worth it in both cases. What do you think?

I think the eagle shot is really well done. Hard to find areas where the cut and paste occurred and that is after being told it is cut and paste. You did a great job.

Thanks for these, Lloyd! Really nicely done. I particularly like that you kept the sky softer (in colors, clarity and detail) so that the eagle remains the star.
Good job on the moon. The eagle needs work along the edges which look cutout up close.
Check the black point on the eagle too. No blacks. On the composition, would leaving the eagle facing his way but flipping the tree around be better?
Good ones. A bit of fringe on the eagle, but still effective if not enlarged too much.
Success or failure in PP is all about one's skill at placing selections. One's software will have tools that assist. Some scenes are far simpler than others - think hair. So the image areas having feathers would be the most difficult in this series and the moon placement childs play, relatively speaking. The series presented show OP to be accomplished.
Thank you all for your comments and suggestions.
You have improved the photos in every case.
Thanks Fotoartist. Considering the outstanding quality your work, I take that as a compliment. I thought about flipping the tree, but decided that the angle leads the eye to the head of the eagle and left it as it was.

I am viewing these shots on an IPad. After you pointed out about the eagle I blowed it up a fair amount. If you hadn’t pointed it out I would not have seen the banding around the eagle. But that was at my estimate 200 to 300% enlargement. So at least for me it was a good cut and paste job.

Nice job! Both look good to me.
Thank you Frank and Steven.
I love them both and hope to be able to do as well someday. Thanks for sharing.
