I have a AF Nikkor (Nikon) lens. 2.8 - 85mm, 1:3.5 - 4.5, Macro lens. Lens filter is set for a 62mm.
This is a manual lens, I do not know what the AF stands for.
The lens in not auto on my D3200 nor my D7000.
Lens is clean, clear and no fungus or scratches on the glass or any damages, dents or dings on the exterior. All numbers and letters are pristine.
Lens comes with H-1 lens hood, on camera its about 1" in depth.
The small sillver button on side near heel of lens; depress, turn lens and it slips into Macro.

On Ebay I've seen prices from $96 to $125 (both were "Buy Now") and this is just for the lens, nothing else.
I will sell for $135.00 and cover the shipping and insurance in continental US only.
Will accept USPS Money Order or PayPal.
Need additional information, please PM me.

I have one of these and have used it since 2010. It's a great lens and will be a great buy for whoever purchases it.

Bob, thanks for the reply on the lens. If I could ask, what camera do you use with the lens?
I'm pleased with the lens, it just does not work on my cameras.

Do you mean 28-85mm, vs. 2.8-85?

Dave, I've used that lens on my Nikon F, D700, D800e, and D850.

rmm0605. Just checked the actual lens and it is plain, 28-85mm, 1:3.5 - 4.5.
What do you mean vs. 2.8-85?

The first photo above reads the same as on the lens.

Thanks
Dave

2.8 is more than likely a typo.

It is a nice old lens, works on screw drive Nikon bodies (AF is screw drive/gear drive). It should (normally) auto focus on a D7000, unless either the AF motor in the D7000 is not working, or the gear drive in the lens is not working. If you look at the front of the D7000 with lens off there is a little drive screw on the lower left side (facing front of camera) that engages with the gear drive mechanism on the lens. If you manually turn the drive tab on the lens does it move the focus stack in the lens? Recent sold prices (Ebay) range from $25.00 to $75.00 "condition based". I have several of these old AF zoom lenses and they are generally sharper than the AF-S lenses - They don't work (AF) with D3xxx and D5xxx bodies (MF only), work AF with D90 and up, D7xxx series and all others with screw drive AF. Good luck with sale. Hope this is helpful.

The AF definitely SHOULD work on a D7000 ... but these lenses are known for the AF getting sticky over time.

A simple cleaning in a repair shop would possibly fix the issue.

You might clean the contacts on the lens as well. I have one as well that I use.

When I had a D7000 and D7100, I found that a lens such as yours (with aperture ring and no built-in motor) had to have the aperture closed all the way down (f22) in order to autofocus on the D7XXX series. Aperture control is then done by the dials on the camera. As others have mentioned, you might want to clean the contacts on the lens.

Good point, I forgot to mention that. Set to F22 and engage the little lock tab, will probably focus just fine. Contact cleaning yes & I do a thorough cleaning on any used/refurbished lens I pick up, just to be safe and not introduce anything into my bodies.

The AF lenses are a fantastic bargain for anyone with a camera with built-in AF motor, like I mentioned, my copies are all sharp, make great pics. OP may find he likes it if it still focuses.

More interesting and information to seek out.
Are you referring to the "tiny" tab that is above the 3.5 mark on the lens?

Thanks to both of you for the reminder!!!
