I posted a question about downloading only RAW files. I shoot both RAW and JPEG in card 1 and also in card 2 for backup purposes. The JPEGs are for transferring to an iPhone and sharing while the RAW images are post-processed in LR Classic. There were several useful suggestions.
I'll try a different approach - record only RAW on card 1, record both RAW and JPEG on card 2. I'll be able to download only RAW to LR while having a backup on card 2. I'll need to shift to card 2 for image sharing but that's not too cumbersome.
I'll try this configuration for a while.

Seems very complicated but if it works for you then that is all that matters.

Agreed.
IF I had two cards in the camera, I would have the second as over-flow. (So used to one card.)
I transfer RAW+JPEG to the same location on the hard drive at the same time, with further dissemination as needed.

I learned long ago not to be critical of the way other folks do things. Your method will work, but I would like to give you food for thought.
It's a quick process to export an image (or several) from LR to a JPG. Have you considered just shooting raw? Here's why I don't include shooting of a JPG. That JPG was processed by the camera and it's gonna look quite different from the eventual JPG I get from processing the raw image. Maybe it's just because I'm anal, but I don't want two different versions of the same image floating around. And I certainly don't want two versions of it to maintain in LR.
As I say . . . food for thought.

Spot on - shoot in RAW, import into LR, export JPG's as needed from LR.

This works for me. I've never seen the logic behind shooting separate JPEG images, unless you're a professional journalist to whom time is the most important factor. But hey, whatever works best for you...

Another possibility is to only share the ones that are worth sharing. Download raw; process; export to jpeg if worth doing; copy those processed jpegs to the I phone.
Making the switch to my first DSLR several years ago...a Nikon D50...and trying raw...I shot raw plus jpeg one time. I haven't shot a jpeg since.

Thanks for the comments. Here's why I shoot the way I described. I travel frequently with a group of people shooting lots of images with an Olympus EM1-Mk2. I transfer daily some (not all) JPEGs to my iPhone and share them with my co-travelers and with my wife (she's home and can see the images on her iPhone). I used to share some images every day with family and friends in my FaceBook account but I closed it recently due to privacy concerns. I download the images to my PC via LR Classic when I get back home, post-process the RAW files, create smart collections of the better images, export to Google Photos and share them with my co-travelers.
Thanks again for the comments and suggestions. We have different needs and methods. What works for me may not work for other folks but it always useful to share ideas.

Smart man!! I closed (deleted) my FB account 2-3 years ago for the same reason. And, sharing of ideas is the primary purpose of this site. :-) You'll iron it out. Good luck.
