Great set.
Thanks again, L-S. I spent a significant amount of marital capital purchasing the 24-70E Nikon lens. The sharpness and color rendition and color smoothness was worth it.
GreyMule,
Your first image was nice and sharp almost all the way through. Was this a focus stack, hyperfocal measurement, 1/3 up from the bottom focus or f 18 and let her rip and what lens was used for the photo?
Thanks,

(Please pardon the color management lesson...)
Why are the files in the ICC color space, 'MelissaRGB'? (That's why the preview looks dull and muted. The system is using sRGB to interpret a file in the wrong color space.)
If you *converted* these to sRGB, the previews and the downloaded versions would both look the same.
MelissaRGB is a very wide gamut color space similar to ProPhoto RGB. It is meant to be used as a working color space while editing, to preserve maximum saturation UNTIL you export to a format for external use. The only time you would export a file in Melissa RGB is for a very high end service bureau to use to make a "gicleƩ" inkjet print. And then, you would send them a 16-bit TIFF, not an 8-bit JPEG.
Not all applications and operating systems know what to do with a JPEG saved in something other than sRGB.
Here is one of your files, converted to sRGB in Photoshop. Both the preview and the download are in the same profile now.

Great shots and you are absolutely correct in that the download is much more colorful. One suggestion though would be to correct the horizon line in the second photo.

Thanks for your very spot on info. I use a Canon Pixma Pro 100 for printing and PS-CC and LR-CC both allow me to print with Canon Print Software in PSD format, 16 bit on my iMac, using Melissa colorspace. The Canon software does a great job of matching the print with the screen (absent of course the backlighting of the screen). I am too lazy to convert for UHH and don't want to use the extra space (tho small) on my drives, especially since when I share with iMac email, it recognizes the Melissa color space.
After all that, did you like the images?

Good spot on your part. I noticed that the horizon was sloping, but decided to leave it because the ridges were sloping down to the left in the scene. I will revisit that detail. Thanks so much for looking so carefully and commenting!
